The Watering Can
The focus of this project was to create a cohesive and effective brand for The Watering Can Flower Market in Niagara on the Lake. The client needed a logo and branding that could effectively represent the unique and unusual personality of the shop, and which could be used for all manner of applications. I was also tasked with redesigning the shop's website, to match the new branding and make it significantly easier to navigate.
Discovering a Personality
After doing some research to learn more about what makes The WateringCan unique, I started sketching as many concepts as I could come up with. Throughout the process and multiple discussions with the client, we narrowed down to a design that we really felt captured the personality of the company, while also being simple enough to be used in many contexts. Once the design was nailed down, I chose colours for the brand that reflected elements of the shop's story, settling on a green, fitting of the shop's plant life and a pink, taken from an iconic display in the shop.
Once the main logo was complete, I expanded the elements out to forma complete brand identity, which could then be translated into a website.
The Reflection of a Unique Brand
In the end, I was very satisfied with the project. The final branding is bright and fun and really encapsulates the personality and uniqueness of the company, and the website is significantly easier to navigate. All the deliverables were well received by the clients and everyone involved was happy.
